Fire.

I am writing to you from a friends. Last night my apartment burned down to the ground. I lost everything, except my cat. I saved him and me. That's it, that's all.

I have a killer headache. I'm scared, you guys.
I wish I was making this up, I wish it was all a dream. But when did wishing ever help anyone?

I'll say it again, I lost everything. Isn't that fucking nuts?

How does this happen? Why?

I can't eat. One good thing, I suppose. I literally can't. I had some grapes this morning, and threw them up in Walmarts bathroom.

I don't need food, just sleep, maybe. Or booze. Or weed. I'm dying for a smoke.

Thank God for friends. These people I rarely talk to have come through for me in the most beautiful, unexpected way.

I'm trying to focus on the positives, I really am. It's just really fucking hard right now.

I'm so sorry something so horrible happened. But at the same time, I'm glad that you (and your cat) are safe. It's horrible to lose all your possessions suddenly in one night, but you're alive and that's the most important thing right now.

The last thing you need now is booze. Or weed. You need a clear head on your shoulders to sort things out. Sleep's probably best.

I'm glad you have friends to support and help you through this.

*big hug*

Oh my god, that's horrible!! :( I hope you're coping as best as you can; if I were in your shoes I'd have a complete breakdown, so it's good to hear that you've being strong about this <3

I usually try to buy better/more natural brands of dried fruit, but my mom gave me those in my Easter basket so I figured what the heck. I haven't experienced any problems with them but I only eat like 2 or 3 at a time so that might be why. Thanks for the info though so I know not to eat too many of them and to start buy a different brand next time.

Also, oh my gosh! I can't believe your your apartment burned down. : ( I'm so, so, so sorry. I'm so glad you're safe though and I'm glad you saved your cat. If my house ever burned down my cat would be the only thing I cared about saving. Just keep close to your friends and they'll keep you strong. Losing material possessions is a major inconvenience but when you still have the ones you love, you have what really matters, and that's all that matters.

Oh babe, I'm so sorry! You're in my thoughts. I wish I could do something for you, but like you said, wishing... I know it's easier said than done, but try and keep positive. It will get better; just imagine, some people wish they could just start completely over. Now, you have that opportunity, that choice, forced upon you, yes, but you still have it. Take full advantage; you'll figure it out.

I'm so glad you got out, and with your feline friend, too! That's big. So keep your chin up, and I hope next time to hear about how you're persevering and succeeding in the face of such loss.

With love,
A Will is the Way
